Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have come under fire for leaving the Royal Family since according to biographer Andrew Morton, she can’t change anything from her home in California.

According to Andrew Morton, Meghan Markle no longer has the power to use her position in the Royal Family to effect significant change.

The family and the world were shocked when the former Suits actress and Prince Harry controversially decided to retire from their roles as working royals in January 2020.

Meghan worked alongside a number of organizations that supported community service, women’s rights, and mental health throughout her time as a working royal.

She had been a World Vision ambassador and had previously delivered a stirring address at the United Nations before she wed into the House of Windsor.

However, the Duchess allegedly threw it all away by relocating to Montecito, according to Andrew Morton, the biographer of Diana, Princess of Wales.

He told the Pod Save the Queen podcast: “The great tragedy, I think, is that Meghan and Harry didn’t give it long enough to see whether they could give it a go, they were on the out almost before the wedding music had finished.

“Meghan is a natural, I’ve got pictures of her when she was age 10 leading a march against the first Gulf War at her school.

“The local TV cameras turned up and she was there giving interviews.”

The leading royal expert further said: “She spoke at the United Nations with Hillary Clinton, she had the great possibility of using her talent and her position to make a genuine change to the world.

“I don’t think she’s going to make such a change living in Montecito.”

Meghan and Prince Harry have continued their charitable efforts after relocating to Montecito, having previously expressed their support for Ukraine in the wake of the Russian invasion in February.

As per Dailystar, the pair also donated money to six frontline organizations, including the HALO Trust, which clears landmines from battle zones.

Harry is familiar with the organization, having worked with the charity in 2019, and his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales worked with them in the nineties.

A spokesperson for the couple said in a statement: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and all of us at Archewell have been moved by the work of so many organizations on the frontlines.

“From longstanding partners like the HALO Trust to organizations we’ve been newly connected to like HIAS, Archewell Foundation has made donations to a number of groups working on the ground to provide aid to Ukrainians.”
